Family Insight is dedicated to the treatment of mental health and substance abuse disorders through evidence-based interventions and service programs.

We serve children, adolescents, families and adults in our intensive in-home and mental health support programs. We also serve children with Autism through our Behavioral Therapy (ABA) services. Our staff includes counselors, clinicians, nurses, and mental health professionals who utilize each client’s unique strengths and support resources to develop individualized treatment plans.

The philosophies of Family Insight are guided by principles that ultimately define our culture and our team’s person-centered approach.

Integrity

We are honest with ourselves and with others and strive to do what is right in every circumstance.

Authentic Regard

We genuinely value others and take the time to connect with them and reinforce their inherent worth.

Positivity

We believe in recognizing and reinforcing the good that happens all around us.

We show our dedication to the people we have been entrusted to serve by adapting our methods and schedules to fit their needs.

We serve our clients and team members through our attention, knowledge and encouragement as needed.

Our Services

Our services are designed to reduce emotional stress, seek mutual understanding and to work through family crises and deal directly with behavioral difficulties. In order to be as effective as possible, we travel to your home and into the community to provide our services in an environment that is familiar to you and conducive to your needs.

This approach also gives our clinicians the ability to recognize underlying concerns and behaviors while stabilizing symptoms in your own environment rather than a foreign one. Holistic principles guide our practice to create lasting family stability, unification and resilience.

Parent & Family Support Services

This program is designed to provide parents and caregivers with the concepts and techniques needed to successfully stabilize the family. Family support identifies and manages inappropriate behaviors and conduct exhibited by children in the home, school, and community spheres through developing effective parenting, behavioral, social and other coping skills.

Parent support services help parents develop the skills to establish: daily routines, a schedule, a budget, attending/maintaining community appointments, and advocating for their family. We provide service involvement including assessment, individual service plan development, concept introduction, skill building, and coaching for technique application by the family. Our providers will observe, model and implement rules, teach the family how to interact positively and provide conflict resolution.

Outpatient Services

Outpatient Services offers individual, couple, family, and group counseling for individuals in a traditional out-patient setting. Our therapists provide therapy for children, adolescents and adults that struggle with managing a wide range of mental health, behavioral and/or substance use disorders.

A range of therapists are available to provide services for individuals based on their specific needs and preferences. Areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance use, grief/loss, adjustment/attachment issues, foster care and adoption, anger management, and conflicts within family/relationship dynamics. Multiple evidenced based interventions are used to help bring about the desired change.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

This program provides a continuum of services for adolescents, adults and families throughout their process of recovery. Our program provides structured, evidence-based outpatient substance use treatment services including assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, substance use education, relapse prevention, intensive outpatient (IOP) and aftercare services based on the client’s needed level of care based on nationally recognized research.

This program offers individual, family and group substance use treatment services in an outpatient setting. The number of group therapy sessions per week and duration of treatment is determined during the assessment.  Weekly individual therapy sessions are incorporated into IOP treatment and are also used as a stand-alone treatment approach. In addition to evidence based substance use treatment services, our program provides group counseling sessions that focuses on co-occurring disorders, anger management, trauma recovery, parenting skills and life skills. On site breathalyzer and urine screening are also used on a random basis as indicated.

Peer Recovery

Peer recovery services are a form of support and assistance provided by individuals who have personal experience with substance abuse, addiction, or mental health challenges. These individuals, known as peer recovery support specialists or peer mentors, have successfully navigated their own recovery journeys and use their lived experience to help others facing similar challenges.

The primary goal of peer recovery services is to offer a unique form of support that complements professional treatment and traditional therapeutic interventions. Peer recovery specialists act as guides, role models, and advocates for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders or mental health issues. They provide emotional support, practical advice, and encouragement throughout the recovery process.

Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT)

Family Insight seeks opportunities to partner with various school systems to promote a Therapeutic Day Treatment Program (TDT) that serves identified students, teachers and administrators. Therapeutic Day Treatment is an intensive level of mental health services offered to youth in school who are experiencing emotional challenges.

Family Insight’s clinical supervisors and site directors have previous experience implementing TDT programs throughout the Northern Virginia area at various agencies. These supervisors bring clinical knowledge as well as an ability to effectively train counselors that will be assigned to TDT schools.
